The room was nice, but a little below what one could expect for the price. The staff was friendly and responsive. The pool was pleasant and not very crowded. The room was comfortable and clean. There was always space in the free parking lot in front of the hotel. On the other hand, the breakfast was catastrophic: the selection was not bad, but would have benefited from being more substantial (yogurt, etc.). Above all, something was constantly missing: plates, baguette, eggs, coffee... which we had to ask for every time. The scrambled eggs were cold and the pastries were mediocre. Do not expect gluten-free bread, even if you are told that there will be some. The icing on the cake: one morning, the staff cleared the table where we had placed two glasses of orange juice and some croissants, while we went to get our coffees (upon our return 2 minutes later, other people had already taken our cleared table).

Stayed for four nights on a Leger Battlefield tour, Hedgerow Hell.Quick easy check in for our party of 27.I stayed in room 104,clean, very quiet hotel,I never heard a thing in the four night we stayed, good power shower with piping hot water, nobody's room was cleaned or towels changed in the full three days we were there but not a problem for me cause I was a solo traveller.High bar prices with a large beer 9 euros & a red wine 5.50 euros, but there's a large supermarket 15 mins walk away.Breakfast not the worse or best, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, cereals , Normandy cheese, ham, croissants, yoghurts etc enough to keep you going till dinner,I didn't eat an evening meal in the hotel as I went out for the three nights, some guests said it was hit & miss, very good one night & average the next night.I went to the La Boucherie steak house which is a 6-8 mins walk, well worth the walk, reasonable prices & food & wine.Friendly , helpful staff especially the young Amber who worked on reception & bar.

Not disappointed by the value for money of this property for its hotel part. Renovated in 2024 the common areas and rooms are of the standard quality expected for a three-star. Located close to the memorial it is however a little off-center from the city center. However, you can enjoy the beautiful bird park on foot.
Associated with the restaurant Linette this establishment fishes for its restaurant part which is not up to standard. However, the presence of a restaurant on site could have been an asset. We tried to have dinner there once during our 4 night stay, not two!
In addition, the breakfast just acceptable on weekdays has strangely grown for the weekend.
However, if I repeat my experience in Caen I will head to the Best Western Royal, you will find at the foot of the hotel a good brasserie (Le Royal) with a value for money and much superior service.
