Le Corps de Garde

A rare kind of place! Where time has left marks that have become beauty! The owner and her daughter were kind and not too intrusive, and that's just fine!

A flawless experience for our second (and certainly not our last) stay at the corps de garde. Thanks to Babeth and her adorable daughter Julia, who do everything possible to make us feel at ease. They are very attentive and give very good advice to help us discover local places and establishments. The rooms are still just as pleasant and cozy with a magnificent view. The place is steeped in history and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are prepared with care, very varied, delicious, and hearty. What else can we say, except thank you and see you soon. The owners are very nice. Helpful and welcoming. Champagne the first nice because they were celebrating. The house is lovely and true to the period. Restored with great taste and attention to detail. The harbour views are the best in Ile de Re. Breakfast is fabulous but beware there is a steep climb to reach bedrooms and no lift!
