Mercure Chalon sur Saone

Hotel that we visit regularly. We are comfortable here. At the restaurant, very good welcome from Cathy and her team. Cuisine: very popular salad bar, the tasty dishes are prepared and cooked on-site. Notably, excellent wines from the region.

We were on a bus trip - although the rooms had carpet, they were very clean and well-furnished / the pool is very nice - but rather small / dinner and breakfast were good / free parking - good location for transit.

Well with the price we paid you know it is not a 5 star hotel, but value for money this hotel is excellent. The rooms are larger than normal for an ibis, very clean and modern. We appreciated the power sockets each side of the bed, the 4 towels and extra pillow- one of the few occasions I haven’t had to go to reception to collect more of the aforementioned. Loved looking out at the vegetable plot and chickens in the garden. It was unseasonably warm so the pool was very welcome with very comfy chairs around the pool. The restaurant is not gourmet but the small Menu is home cooked and honest. We have stayed in so many Ibis hotels where the food is all vacuum packed- not the case here. Brilliant choice of local wines. Close to the motorway, pleasant staff ideal for an overnight stop. This is not a destination hotel but a very good value for money overnight stop. We will be using it again.
