Grand Hotel la Cloche

Beautiful garden, ordered tea. 5/5 for the oasis like setting, 1/5 for dreadful scented dishwater tea. Stop this case of posh tea nonsense, get a proper brew going.

Nice hotel in a good place, convenient is the valet parking. Nice room with good air conditioning and amenities. Restaurant in the hotel had too few staff the night we ate there, and that resulted in long waits and wrong orders. Toilets downstairs are not really clean, and that has been noted before, I read in the reviews. Breakfast is very good. Opposite the hotel starts the parcours de la chouette, a fun walk through the old town. Be sure to visit les Halles for a nice market, and have a chat with wine merchant Patrick, has good wines and tasty oysters.

We booked for the Sunday brunch. Very disappointed, quality of service and dishes that are not in line with a 5-star hotel. We had to ask the staff constantly, no more dessert (frozen), no more water or coffee pods... Very mediocre dishes. Plates not cleared. No one came to see us to know if we wanted another glass of wine or a bottle of water. To conclude, extremely disappointed and exaggerated price: 140 euros for two!!!
