Le Sablier du Temps

A very tired and dated hotel. Only an automatic blind on the window, so you had to be in the dark to get any privacy. Sheets were clean but the full length mirror was smeared with finger prints and the shower screen had not been cleaned. The guy on Reception was not very welcoming and his clothes were filthy. So different to the reception we had at every other place we stayed at on our trip. Restaurant was closed on the Friday so can't comment but we didn't fancy having breakfast if he was going to be serving it.

Close to the city center. We stayed in a superior room with a garden view. The balcony is a plus, as well as the air conditioning and the small refrigerator (despite the noise from the latter at night, which could bother some people). Very good bedding. Quiet room. Hearty and varied breakfast. The pool was very much appreciated. The staff is very helpful and smiling. The first thing that is shocking when we arrive at this 3-star establishment is the lack of cleanliness of the glass windows at the reception. The room could use an update. (carpet on the floor that raises questions about hygiene, furniture from another era). The television is very poorly placed in relation to the positioning of the bed. As for the dining, the price is too high compared to the dishes served. (despite the trout being depleted in the aquarium, before ending up with spinach in the middle of the plate). On the morning of our departure, we informed the owner that the day before, a very strong, indescribable odor was invading the room as well as the bathroom, but he seemed to ignore our statements. This is my opinion, but I would not recommend this hotel to my family or my friends.

Hotel certified "Logis de France," well-equipped with spacious, air-conditioned rooms. It has a beautiful unheated pool measuring 12m x 6m, but the umbrellas need to be replaced. However, in some areas, a refresh would be welcome, such as the carpet on the stairs and the furniture in the rooms. In terms of cuisine, it is not the best value for money in the city; the only advantage is that we have a choice of location. Outdoor terrace or indoor room. The breakfast buffet is generous and varied but does not always promote local products. In general, this hotel, which has been acquired for 3 years, has lost some of its charm due to a lack of equipment renewal and a decline in the originality of the cuisine. However, in this part of Corrèze, the choice of 3-star hotels is limited, making it almost unavoidable. Conclusion: Hotel Quality: Okay Cuisine: Could be better (there are better options in the neighborhood) Reception: Friendly
