Residence Lagrange Prestige le Clos des Vignes

Of all the Lagrange residences I know, this one is very disappointing. The photos are far from current. Not very well maintained, large local garbage that leaves to be desired side cleanliness, the slabs in the corridor of the floor concrete gravel and unsealed that slam in the passage of other residents day and night. Parking is said to be private but not secure. We found a person smoking at 10:30 p.m. by -2 degrees between our two cars on New Year's Eve!! cars very close to deny access to the sliding door of a van. I called the day before my arrival to reassure myself that bed linen and towels are well planned for 4 people. I was told that as I am alone, the extra linen will be charged!! Certainly there is only one name on the contract but if I rented a place for 4 it was to receive family 48 h! and for which I paid the tourist tax well. Virtually no double dishes, you have to run the dishwasher lunch and evening. No curtain at the bedroom window, just a shutter. Very narrow balcony but given the freezing weather we didn't go. Accommodation for 4 people with bathroom and toilet accessible in the room through a sliding door! really not great at night to go to the toilet in the dark and without waking sleepers! Heating off during the day. It was necessary to go through the reception to request deprogramming during the day. Staff not very welcoming at reception, and for an intervention in the apartment I am told it will be done within 5 min and I waited 2 hours! I shortened my stay, I left the day before. Only positive, the immediate proximity to a health course and a lake to walk and supermarket 800 m.

The UK website details this as a recently built development. When we arrived, it was clear it was a lot older than that, so we asked and were told if it was built 18 years ago. Clearly nothing has been done to it since then. The house itself was dirty, the furniture was battered, and the outside area was dirty and right next to the car park for the residential development next door. We’ve been to several La Grange developments in the past, so know that they are basic but functional and we were assuming this one would be the same. Unfortunately, it was absolutely awful. The house we stayed in was supposed to sleep eight. It was a tight fit for two. Yes there were three bedrooms upstairs which would’ve slept five people. However, there was only one bathroom/toilet which is nowhere near enough for eight people - and that was downstairs - so getting to the loo in the night was a bit tricky. In the living area downstairs, there was a settee and chair that converted out to a double and a single bed. However, there was no space for them to be converted out because of the huge heavy dining table and eight chairs that were in the way. Moving around the kitchen area was also extremely tight because of the table and chairs. The Wi-Fi which you had to pay extra for, is provided by a separate company and doesn’t accept English credit cards, We managed to pay in the end by giving cash to a French person and using their credit card. However, the Wi-Fi just didn’t work in the living area. The only place we could get anything like a reasonable signal was in the corner of one of the bedrooms upstairs. We paid for five devices for one week, but if more than one device was trying to use it, the whole thing fell over. The pool lounges were filthy. The pool itself was quite clean but absolutely freezing. The staff say it doesn’t need heating because it gets warm with the sun however the direction it’s been built means the water’s never actually is in the sunshine. The one good thing about the place is the staff are very nice.

Staff friendly and available. The residence deserves to be modernized. Parking is not secure and the pool is unheated and poorly exposed. Too bad.
