CAMPANILE EVREUX

We have stayed at this Hotel may times as a stop over point mainly due to it access to the Motorway, however this was the worst stay we have encountered. It is a shame that it takes a global pandemic to get the rooms cleaned to a high standard, rather than the dusty rooms we have had on previous visits. On this occasion we had another Guest burst into our Room demanding Cigarettes, which upset us both, the matter was reported to the Hotel Staff but we were not informed of the outcome. We shall think very hard to see if we use this Hotel ever again.

Before booking I checked to see if this Campanile had a restaurant (been caught out before), yes it did. What it did not tell me was that the restaurant was not functional!! After driving over 600 kilometres all we wanted was to lock up the car and go into the restaurant for a meal. Sorry, the receptionist said, we have little or no choice but there's a wok over there you can cook something yourself if you want. Had we not pre-paid we would have walked out as the whole Hotel was in a very tired state. Campanile Evreux - never again!!

For the price (booked in advance so 61 euros) just about acceptable but the room looked tired and needs updating. The french do not seem to do pillows as we recognize them Just small lumpy things or a cushion.Wanted just a light meal but they only do set menus or a la carte main meals. Similarly you cannot just get a croissant and coffee for breakfast, only their full buffet.
