Le Jardin des Plumes

I arrived at this hotel in Giverny on Pentecost Sunday, where I took possession of my room in the afternoon. I then went to a wedding and returned to the hotel at 1 AM. The entry code that the hotelier gave me did not work; there was no night guard, and I could not enter the hotel and therefore could not sleep in my room. I drove home at night, exhausted, to get some sleep. I returned to the hotel the next morning to collect my luggage and informed the hotelier that I would not pay for my room since he had not fulfilled his service. The hotelier did not apologize, explained that I had not been able to make the code work the night before, and still charged my Visa card.

Following complaints regarding the room, management has adjusted the prices.

I have not yet slept in this establishment, but I dislike this hotel. The room is horrible, impractical, with no privacy in the bathroom and no light. I cannot stand that we must say the day before what time we want to have breakfast and what we desire for breakfast. I like the choice. A four-star: the price but not the service.
