Parc Arena

Was nervous about this due to terrible reviews but it was ok apart from the lack of air con in 37 degree heat (I would not recommend going there in July or August). The room was small with a pull out bed to make a double which meant you then couldn't move round the room. There's a kettle, coffee machine, microwave, to rings and a fridge so good for cold beers and making simple meals. The bathroom was fine with plenty of hot water. Cleanliness was adequate in the room but the underground car park was strewn with rubbish- we had no problems with the car. This "hotel" is absolutely fine if you want a cheap room in Nimes for a couple of days, easy walk to the Arena and other tourist stuff. It felt quite safe as it's opposite a huge police station and there is a secure car park underneath, it was also very quiet.

I have been there for 6 months for studying, I just moved to another place and I can tell you that Parc Arena is one of the worst place I've been living in. The hotel is absolutely filthy and disgusting, there is no selection of people, there are gypsys living there, every day in the elevator you can find plenty of spit and once someone pissed in the elevator. Security is very bad, cars have been hit more than once in the inside parking lot, people tried to enter the rooms, and clothes have been stolen from the washing machine. I could say much more.....absolutely not 2 stars!!!!! No even half...

Actually my 6 month stay at Parc Arena in Nimes was a pleasant one. I have no comment whatsoever regarding the room or the residence in general. However, what screwed up the agreeable experience was the management's honesty and commitment in returning security deposits. I have been trying to retrieve my security deposit (Around 450 Euros) for the past 5 months and still got nothing yet. My room was left spotless and not one bit of damage was observed by the receptionist or by myself when I handed the keys. It has been a total headache calling and emailing the residence, as they only seem to give lame excuses and run away each time. I do recommend the place only if you can afford loosing your deposit.
