Hotel De France

We stop here on our journey south and it is always superb. Staff are great and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. We are definitely coming back next year

We have stayed here a couple of times and once again the hotel didn’t disappoint. Lovely clean room and staff really helpful. We park underneath in their private car parking and our car is the same size as a Range Rover and we always get in. We will be booking again for next year.

Conveniently located in the city center this hotel could have been perfect if the reality was consistent with the presentation on the internet. Private parking is only available to small vehicles. The dematerialized payment methods (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Paypal) lose the last two quotes at the time of payment which is, moreover, required before the key is handed over. The room is comfortable but has, unlike the common areas which have a beautiful appearance, big gaps in maintenance in good condition (damaged carpeting, lower facing of the bath partially sunk, towel rack partly torn from the wall, twisted front door stop). In addition, the power cable of the kettle is too short to allow its use on the table on which it is placed! Breakfast is ok, although it does not offer fresh fruit or cereals, but: - the orange juice machine was not working, making it necessary to use the carafe juices offered without clear identification of their contents; tea proved undrinkable because of the strong soap smell (teapot too summarily washed?). In summary, too much discrepancy between the image given on the internet and reality creates a real disappointment, reinforced by a really not warm welcome, while the room is comfortable, although a little noisy a few moments at night (side street).
