Hotel Carre Noir

Mixed opinion. The view is just beautiful from our luxury sea view room, but the room, is not luxurious. It is a clean room, comfortable but not worth the 300€ paid. A safe, a coffee maker with two coffee capsules, a kettle with two cool bags (tea and tea), two worn bathrobes, a balcony with two armchairs, a bathroom with shower very well arranged but toilet not separated Sage green and white paint and decoration. A damaged mirror in the bathroom. Even with the view, this room cannot be described as luxurious. Breakfast is impeccable, but at 20€ it is normal. Fresh pressed fruit juice, coffees, teas, cold cuts cheese pastries, eggs etc. Very Good Welcoming. Then why this mixed opinion? I find it expensive for what it is: no food for the evening, or on the beach 20/30 minutes walk (quite steep descent) . And a feeling of injustice for daring to ask at 2:30 p.m. by phone if we could arrive before 4 p.m.... negative answer, that’s the game. But the next day 10 people (including 6 children) arrived during our breakfast, at 10 a.m., claiming their rooms.. instead of turning them away, as we were, they were directed to the pool, before getting a room around noon. And to ruin our morning with screams and music when we went to the pool.... Next time I’ll do the same, I’ll show up well before time instead of playing it straight. 15h for 16h is playable but 10h for 16h, and to disturb like this is to abuse. The hotel has just changed hands, which may explain the trial and error. But it wasn’t very commercial. Just like the negative response to my request for an extension of one hour to enjoy the pool (quiet) before leaving when I explained my feeling of injustice, noting that I had been overcharged for breakfasts... (sum that was refunded to me... )

Great hotel , beautiful setting, quiet and exceptional views. Pool at the top Cleanliness at the top, nice nice room and nice. Very professional staff We were able to have an advanced breakfast so we could go on a excursion

In fact, nothing like a 4-star. Level 3 stars at best for decoration and furniture. Breakfast 2 stars at best. Apart from the location in Santa Giulia and the view (partly hidden depending on where you are) I doubt it will become a 4 star. For the stay (off season) no restaurant at all or swimming pool. Sewage smell in the room (we were treated to a spray). Welcome between 16:00 and 18:00 only - the person at the reception is alone and must take care of everything. The bar accessible if you really want and thanks to the "kindness" of your host.
