Saint-Severin

Extremely close to the station and not a long walk at all into the interesting parts of Toulouse (which, by the way, is definitely one of France's nicer cities). Comparatively cheap for a well-placed hotel. The staff were varied - one chap quite quiet, another a little more forthcoming and chatty. Plus the latter made me a cup of coffee, which marked him out as an all-round 'bon-ouef'. The room was quite dark and reminded me somewhat of a dungeon, with a miniscule window set high into the top corner, so I was glad to only be staying a couple of nights in that respect. Bathroom was alright, but the shower was one of the ones you have to hold in your hand, which presents all manner of complications when it comes to shower gel application. Also, lack of shielding results in formation of a rather obstinate floor-puddle after a mere 3-minute-long shower. WiFi didn't reach my room, so I had to sit in the little... bit with seats in... on the first floor of the main hotel section if I wanted to use it. Not a huge problem, but mildly irritating nonetheless.

We arrived quite late at night and left quite early in the morning, so were really only after somewhere to sleep. So in that regard, this fit the bill. The room was quiet and clean and we had a good night's sleep. The place was a very short walk to the railway station, also a plus. Plus Toulouse is quite compact, so no problem going out and finding dinner. Not perfet - the WIFI only seems to work in the hallways plus the shower head had to be held up by hand, no hook on the wall. But not fussed for what we were looking for.

Good hotel with lot of restaurants and shops. Its situation is perfect for visting the city at the end of day and find marvellous food sellers. Next time i will stay yhere it's sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
