Hotel L'Aubergade

The staff couldn’t have been any More helpful. Went above and beyond throughout the whole stay to make our holiday easy, relaxed and enjoyable. The place was great value for money and in the most perfect location, just a 3 minute walk from le pleney cable car.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at L'Aubergade and I knew what I was getting before I arrived this time. So, group of 12 blokes - we took 6 rooms between us and really used it as somewhere to sleep, have breakfast and store our kit. The location is brilliant - v.short walk to Plenty lift, opposite bus stop for bus to Prodains or 5 minute walk to Super Morzine. For us it also offered great access to the bars and restaurants. So that is the good. Oh, the bar is OK too. The rest is pretty average or less than average. No investment in the property, it is 5 years since I last stayed and it is looking 5 years older! Occasionally cold showers, a shower tray that overflowed within 30 seconds of the shower being switched on. Curtains falling off the rail, and in one case no curtains at all. Boot rack doesn't heat up so don't rely on that drying your boots overnight! Breakfast was OK apart from the conceptually brilliant but poorly executed breakfast burrito. Everything you can possibly think that you might want to eat for breakfast stuffed into a wrap. Not one of our group managed to eat it as it was so poor. If location is everything then it is superb and that is what you pay for. It manages 2stars based on location. I have heard through several sources that it is being knocked down and high end apartments are being built next year, hence the lack of investment and need to ensure repeat business.

We were on the top floor, rooms badly in need of renovation. Toilet not working, shower poor, you were lucky to get water from it. On arrival no lights working in room. Rooms not clean. Damp in wardrobes. Not a cheap holiday. However if you stayed on the first floor I would expect it would get a totally different review. Breakfast was good. Bar and restaurant spot on the. The young staff worked really hard. Great location. Just don't book the top floor. We were there new year so the resort was full, if it wasn't we would have moved hotel. Disappointed.
