I was reading reviews re this hotel and thought I would put in my tuppenceworth. This is a basic hotel but has some great points. 1 it’s in a great position with easy access to chairlifts and mountain railway. It’s next to an Irish bar which serves great beer and has sport on the tvs The food is fine always plenty and decent temperature. Oh and the complimentary wine, and the hotel bar are quite good The rooms may be tired but beds are comfy and plenty hot water. Not so good We arrived just after 2pm but didn’t get into our room until after 8pm. Staff were understanding but their hands were tied due to lack of cleaning staff and we were given a complimentary drink in the bar. Staff were under pressure as were the cleaning staff. Cleaning of rooms is basic with beds not made but hey the towels were changed when you wanted. The bathroom could do with upgrading with stains in the shower and wash hand basin. So don’t go if you want 4 star but do if skiing is the main reason for your stay. I’ve just booked again for January

Excellent stay with good weather , well worked slopes , quality food and quiet accommodation .Special mention to the ESF very professional.

Upon arrival the outside of the hotel looked very nice and how we remembered it over the years. Check in wasn’t until nearer to 5pm, but we were able to check in after 3pm. The room was very dated, nothing had been changed since we visited the first time since 2004, apart from a new fire door to the room. Carpet very dirty, beds weren’t changed all week, and the electrics were coming off the wall, the tv didn’t work even after changing the batteries. The bath was damaged, and the lights were not very bright. The room smelled of weed from the previous occupants, which wasn’t very nice. The room was eventually cleaned, but only after we complained. We tried to look for a different room but due to it being so full, the chance of us getting a new room was limited. The food was the only thing that made our week better, throughly cooked and different choices every day. Don’t get me wrong the skiing was great, but the hotel experience did let us down. Unfortunately we won’t be returning to this hotel or Tignes, we will look to another resort and hotel. It’s a shame, as ewe love Tignes, and hotel is in a perfect location. But it needs a full renovation and upgrade to all the rooms. Sorry.
