Residence Maeva Le Golf

The Golf residence is located in the beautiful Altiport district. Free shuttles are available to get off in the center of the resort. The residence allows you to leave on the slopes ski on foot. The studio is perfect to fully enjoy a week at the ski. The basic equipment of the studio is sufficient. We found the accommodation very clean. We are delighted to return to the residence this summer to enjoy the hiking trails.

6 of us stayed in a 7 person apartment in the Pierre et Vacances Le Golf residence in the Altiport area of Meribel. The location is great. We had beginners and good skiers with us and it's right next to beginner area and ski in/ out. Quick access over to Courcheval. Great free ski bus down into town and to ESF meeting point. Automated ski pass machine next to first chairlift. Enough chill out space and storage space for everyone. Down sides were it was quite dated. Very small kitchen,almost impossible to cook for 6. Bunkbeds in corridor as usual in a ski appt - but right opposite bathroom door and kitchenette so no lie ins for those 2 and awoken by anyone visiting the loo in the night. No boulangerie in Altiport. Nearest sherpa is 3 stops on bus. Also we were told to not use the ski lockers ( dangerous stairs?). It's not practical to trail 6 lots of equipment up to 5th floor and store boots and skis in the appt. We ignored advice but new plan needed by Le Golf.

We stayed at Le Golf for one week from 31st January 2015 and our first impression wasn't great. It had been snowing for quite some time before we arrived and it continued to do so for all of our journey to the apartments (the journey took around 6 hours intstead of 2). After having to abandon the car 2 miles away and take shelter in a bar we realised that the check in closed at midnight. We tried to call all three numbers we had for the apartments (2 of those were emergnecy numbers) but there was no answer. So we found ourselves stranded in a bar not knowing whether we would be able to get in. After getting a taxi to the apartments we found that they had left a key out for us but we travelled all the way there on the off chance that we would be able to get in. The rooms were sufficient for our stay and ok for the price we paid (I would take your own both towels if staying at these apartments and they also only provide a blanket per bed and a sheet which aren't comfortable). After 2 nights stay we were asked for 200euros deposit for the apartment and an additional 18euros or so for some sort of tax!! We were not previoulsy advised that we would need to pay this and although you do get the deposit back,m we were shocked that the receptionist had just come up to the apartment demanding money for a deposit that we didn't know about and he could explain what it was for. They also told us at this point that we would not be expected to clean the apartment before we checked out. We came back to our room the day before we was due to leave to a note stuck to our door which said that we would have to clean and hoover, take any rubbish to the bins and take sheets and towels to a laundry room before checking out. I was also disturbed by the fact that they asked us to fold the bankets we had used all week and put them back in the cupboard (it didn't appear that these were being cleaned for the next guest). The only good things about this apartment was the location in relation to the slopes (a couple of minutes walk away) and the fact that there was a bus stop right outside that takes you in to the main centre every 15 minutes or so.
