Honestly, Ski Azur was one of the worst places we have ever stayed. We knew it would be basic, but this was something else entirely. Upon arrival, the room was absolutely disgusting. The toilet was brown—not from years of staining as we initially thought but because it hadn’t been cleaned at all before we arrived. A bit of soap and scrubbing revealed how neglected this place really is. There was other peoples hair in the shower and the bathroom floor was practically brown. The shower was hanging off the wall, and we reported it to our rep, who told us it wouldn’t be fixed during our stay. This meant that it was just an inconvenience when showering. The ceiling above the shower had two random holes in it, adding to the overall feeling of neglect.
The bedding was atrocious. We had read mixed reviews so we took our own pillow cases just to be safe - thank goodness we did. There were odd stains all over the duvets, and the “bed linen” was so thin and flimsy it felt like it would disintegrate in water. The “duvet cover” was not a duvet cover, but a sheet, which came away during the night meaning we were touching the dirty duvets provided. There were two mirrors, but both were in the bathroom, which made it impossible for four people to get ready at the same time. Plugs were in the most inconvenient places, making charging anything a chore.
The so-called “self-catering” setup was a complete joke. There were no towels, no toilet roll, no hand soap, no sponges, no washing-up liquid, and no dishwasher tablets. There was a dishwasher but no kettle (which we found odd) and the cutlery was filthy, with food still stuck to it. The glasses needed to be cleaned again before use as they clearly had not been done before. It seems there are not cleaners within the premises and guests are expected to do this themselves. The extractor fans in both the bathroom and kitchen were absolutely disgusting covered in black stuff. The walls were splattered with food (we think/hope) and to top it off, the hoover in our room didn’t work, so we had to borrow one from next door, which was equally terrible. The dustpan and brush provided came with a clump of someone else’s hair and we had found a tea towel that they provided which looked like it had never been washed. The TV didn’t have a remote, there was no Wi-Fi, and phone signal was practically non-existent. This place just kept getting worse.
The ski lockers were questionable. They could just about fit four sets of skis and poles but absolutely no ski boots. Apparently, ski boots are banned in the rooms, so where exactly are you supposed to store them?
The location unfortunately is awful. It’s a 20-30 minute walk to the village and main bars, which isn’t ideal when you’re carrying ski equipment or trying to get back late at night. There is a shuttle bus, but it only runs up to the resort—not down into the village—and it doesn’t operate at night. “Ski-in, ski-out” is not true and we just found it a faff.
There were no staff to be found anywhere in the hotel. If you needed help, you were on your own. We didn’t see a single staff member during our stay. To make matters worse, we were told we had to clean the place better than we found it before checking out. Considering how filthy it was when we arrived, this was an insult. No cleaning products were provided, so we had to go out and buy our own in fear we wouldn’t get our deposit back.
The only two redeeming factors were that there was always hot water and the room was warm - but of course, you couldn’t adjust the radiator, so this was sometimes an issue.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. It’s filthy, poorly maintained, and not worth even half of what we paid.

This accommodation made my first year uni hall, riddled with asbestos and mould, look like an episode of grand designs. Upon arrival, the room was relatively clean, if you were willing to overlook the black crud all over the bathroom and the unidentifiable sticky stuff on the TV remote.
I've never been to prison, but I can only image it would be a slight step up, with the corridors having a very hostile, Alcatraz feel to them.
Oh well... I guess we are in the alpes so at least the view is stunning. NO. Our balcony overlook la piscine, which resembled a small body of water in the middle of a swamp. I would not have been surprised if a staff member told me it had a family eels living in it. Well maybe I would be slightly surprised as I didn't see a single member of staff throughout the whole stay.
Having said this, the location was pretty good so if you have to stay here, its not the end of the world.
