Review and report
We wish to alert future guests regarding the practices of this establishment.
Following the cancellation of our train by the SNCF, due to safety instructions from French authorities related to the major fires affecting the Bordeaux region, we found ourselves absolutely unable to reach Lourdes. This is an external, unforeseeable, and irresistible event, meeting the criteria of force majeure as defined in Article 1218 of the Civil Code.
We immediately contacted the hotel to request an exceptional cancellation of our reservation. The receptionist indicated to us that the establishment could do nothing and that only Booking.com was authorized to process this request. However, Booking.com confirmed to us in writing that this decision rested exclusively with the hotel establishment, which had expressly requested not to be contacted for cancellation requests.
Despite a case of force majeure affecting transportation and resulting from decisions by public authorities, the establishment refused any amicable solution.
We believe that such a position is contrary to the principle of good faith execution of contracts provided for by Article 1104 of the Civil Code. Furthermore, the systematic refusal to examine a situation of force majeure is likely to be assessed with regard to the provisions of the Consumer Code, particularly when it creates a significant imbalance between the rights and obligations of the parties (Article L.212-1 of the Consumer Code).
We are unfortunately not the only guests to have encountered this type of difficulty. Several testimonials report a policy consisting of refusing any cancellation, including when they result from exceptional events independent of the travelers' will.
Consequently, we will undertake the necessary steps with Booking.com to report this situation and request a review of this establishment's listing. We also reserve the right to contact the competent authorities, in particular the General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), as well as any competent court if this proves necessary.
Lourdes is a place of welcome and reflection frequented by many people, some of whom are particularly vulnerable. We deeply regret that an establishment located in this city is adopting such a WORRYING policy in the face of an exceptional event involving the safety of travelers.
We invite future guests to read the cancellation policies of this establishment with the greatest attention before making any reservation.

I booked the hotel through agoda website promoting the hotel as 3* which is a big lie it don't even get 1* so poor. 1. The reception is sweet when you check in. The rooms are poor no air-conditioning at 33c temp in June one standing fan. Morning breakfast is a disaster when I went down in dining room at 9am there was nothing except coffee machine, it is so poor what shall we eat , the morning who look after is busy taking to his girlfriend. So people please don't book this Hotel it's just rip-off or U go and experience your self
