ibis Paris Porte d'Orleans

Good hotel with a decent continental breakfast, spacious and clean rooms and bathroom; besides the rooms facing the street, they also have them in the inner part; the area is a bit outside the center but easily reachable by the Metro a few steps away.

Dangerous for children. With my 5-year-old daughter, 10th floor with a window that opens wide and her bed right under the window. No security.

If the Oscar were awarded for the most misleading hotel pictures, this place would be on stage with the thank-you speech ready. The foyer is the hotel's Tinder profile. At a distance it looks beautiful and inviting. But when you get closer, you discover that the furniture is stained and has experienced more tragedies than the role crew in Game of Thrones. The reception welcomed us with all the warmth you usually associate with a parking machine. A smile seemed to be a purchase package. The building from the outside gives the feeling that you’ve been driven wrong and landed in the middle of a post-apocalyptic movie. You almost hope someone screams “Cut!”, but no – that’s the hotel. The hallways are a time machine directly back to a time when no one had heard of renovation. The rugs tell stories, one would prefer not know the end of. The room was worn out in a way where “charming patina” had long since given up. The linen did not seem to have a close relationship with a washing machine, and the sound insulation was so thin that we could almost attend the neighbors’ conversations – and follow the elevator’s career up and down all night long. The hotel’s photos on the website and Booking.com have clearly been on an intensive Photoshop course. Reality is light years away. The highlight of your entire stay? When the Uber driver showed up. Rarely has the sound of a car pulling into the edge stone been felt as much as a knight on a white horse. The walk away from the hotel was undoubtedly the most comfortable part of the entire stay. We're not coming again. Unless someone turns the place into a museum of disappointed expectations.
