Villa Bella Gio

We booked this hotel for 1 night before our flight home, driving upto it filled me with anxiety. There was a construction site next to it! We drove into the car park to see several men sitting around and litter all around. The staff were pleasant and organised (this is the reason for the 1 score). The lift was filthy & the doors opened to find a man laying on the floor! The corridor carpets were stained with goodness knows what! We went out after checking the room and didn’t return until just before dusk (there was no way I was returning when it was dark. The room was clean, but it was a disturbed nights sleep between the a/c which you need to have on, traffic noise and sirens because you are very near several hospitals. This hotel may look a bargain BUT it really isn’t!

How can this hotel be a 3*. We had - stains on the loo, mould in the shower, curtains off the wall, pillows with no cover and stained with no stuffing, hall way with kitchen bowel under the roof to stop a leak, other family bedroom had leak on loo and shower, hotel decor tired with chairs with bits taken out of it, air con did not work (on the night it that was +30), old cleaning materials left in bedroom and to top it all - it’s in the middle of a building site. Staff horrendous - did nothing to sort complaints. Faulty Towers in France. Booked in for 2 nights and stayed 1 - went to a 4* afterwards -DO NOT LOOSE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK CHEAP!!!!

I put a star because at the end of the day we had a bed to sleep and a bathroom but that was about it. For starters the receptionist did not speak English and had to use his phone to Google the translation. I have to admit that at least, he tried. It took more that half an hour to do the check in and when finally got to the room it was disgusting and smelled like someone had been smoking inside. Not a good feeling at all. The room was bare and dated. The bathroom was very neglected and old (weird enough the vanity was new) We won't be coming back that's for sure. Sad experience.
