Hotel Cote Ventoux

it might look really good on the pictures and have probably also done that but must be long time ago. But today in 2021 the hotel is dilapidated and most it is out of order. There is no bar/lounge and restaurant because it’s closer so the nearest place to have beverage or food is like 20 min away. The pool area is dirty and a unpleasant so not a place you want to stay. The rooms and beds is old and worn, the balconies is directly dangerous because of rotten boards and rusty nails sticking out so also now pleasure. And as if it's enough the personal is rude and untrustworthy don’t tell the truth and ignore you totally when you what to complain of above. So ended up leaving the hotel after just on night even that we have booked more.

I came here on a 30 person group cycling trip at the end of August and stayed for 3 nights. Some nice qualities - shower with both rain and handheld head, separate secure garage for bikes, pool, and terrace off of room. Girard the front desk clerk was AWESOME - pleasant and helpful with terrific English. The general area was great for cycling - our routes were typically 40-50 miles/day. Now for the not so good: 1. Breakfast was limited and redundant. Hardly any fresh fruit. Only one variety per day. Mushy apricots or bruised bananas were the choices during our stay. Low quality ham and Swiss cheese. Same every day. Could not eat outside due to all the yellow jackets attracted to the ham. 2. The owner has a small dog who does not have a designated poop area. Consequently there is dog poop all over the terrace and yard and it is not picked up. Completely unacceptable. 3. The property is slovenly - see #2 above. There were plastic gloves used for a BBQ on the first night thrown on the ground that were still laying around 2 days later. The kitchen - don't look inside or you'll wish you hadn't - has the STRONG stench of rotting meat. 4. Dinners were unremarkable in quality and taste (except lamb BBQ night was delicious) and did not live up to French food reputation! No vegetables, salad, or greens. Example meal: pate first course, bland fish and rice for second, apple pie for dessert. Service lacking. 5. Dining room was very smoky. New and old smoke with top notes of deodorizer. The hotel is a little bit outside the town - no place within reasonable walking distance to take a coffee or spritz. There were no French people at the hotel during our stay - only a few Germans and us. I would not stay here again. Read the reviews from all languages to get full review of hotel.

Our Cycling team stayed at Cote Ventoux for 4 days. Whilst cycling up the Giant of Provence. The location was superb. The rooms effective, service excellent and breakfast was very good. The pool was welcome after a day on the bike. Also a bike store was available for safety. A very Velo friendly hotel.
