Hotel Le Plantagenet

I had already visited this hotel a few years ago and wanted to experience the same pleasure during my stay. Positive points: the hotel is in the center of Chinon, facing a free parking lot (which is a plus), and the tranquility is still present. The welcome is also very good, and check-in is possible early, which is convenient for starting to enjoy the city from late afternoon. Good bedding and pillows (double bed equipped with 2 mattresses of 80), important for a hotel! Negative points: the bathroom clearly needs to be reviewed: Toilets are "very marked," the shower floor is sticky with an unidentifiable covering (wavy plastic over historical tiles?), the rain shower head is in a disastrous state... everything needs to be redone except for the sink. Additionally, there is a wardrobe that is far too small (the hangers themselves are crooked due to the insufficient width) and a constant noise from the plumbing near the air conditioning unit (even though it was not in operation). In short, renovation work is necessary... and fortunately, it is underway. It is unfortunate that the context is not specified at the time of booking or that these reservations are limited to renovated or acceptable rooms in relation to the hotel's standards.

The is a lovely traditional hotel with great service and accommodation in a classic style. The team were very helpful and informative to get us settled in. Parking in the square at the front is great. Easy walk through the old town streets to the centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants.

Ideal location in the center of Chinon. Pleasant Welcoming by the teams. However bedding not very comfortable, old bathroom.
