Au Charme Rabelaisien is ideally located for visiting the Loire region, including for walking anywhere in Amboise. Owner Jean Jacques and his team were welcoming and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, breakfast very good and relaxing in the lovely garden each day after exploring the region was a bonus.

Hotel Au Charme Rabelaisien was a charming place to stay in Amboise. We stayed in one of the outdoor cottages near the heated pool, which was a lovely setting. Jacques, the owner, was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. When we mentioned that our room still wasn’t quite cool enough despite the wall A/C unit, he promptly brought us a standing fan, which made us much more comfortable. We also had a river cruise picnic lunch planned and were having trouble figuring out exactly where we needed to meet the boat. We asked Jacques to arrange a taxi, hoping either he or the driver would know where the “dock” was. When the taxi was running late and we began to worry about missing our cruise, Jacques assured us that if the driver didn’t arrive, he would personally take us. That kind of hospitality really stood out. Jacques and his wife also prepared the continental breakfast each morning, and the eggs were honestly the best we had during any of our hotel stays in France! He also recommended a restaurant for dinner on our final evening, and it turned out to be the perfect way to end our time in Amboise. The hotel itself was charming, but it was the warm, personal service that made our stay especially memorable. We would absolutely recommend Hotel Au Charme Rabelaisien!

We were greeted by very friendly staff who made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and the backyard was a great place to open a bottle of wine from our winery visit and watch hot air balloons rise from nearby. The room was spacious, clean and accommodating. Location was perfect. We would definitely return without hesitation.
