MERCURE BLOIS CENTRE

Very nice 3-star hotel 1 1/2 hour car ride from CDG airport. In the town center of Blois and within walking distance to many local restaurants and taverns. Very large twin bed room with shower room. Food at the hotel restaurant was very good all be it a little different from our usual USA type food. You got to be adventurous and just pick a dish as the menu is often in French. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool and spacious bar were very nice. Parking could be a problem as the later you are trying to find a space the further you are from the hotel. We stayed 3 nights in Blois and used this hotel as our starting. Highly recommend.

My family took me on a trip to castles in the Loire region to stay. The building is an old building, but renovated a few years ago and the rooms are modern. I was happy because it was clean and tidy. There was tea, coffee and a water heater in the room, but no refrigerator. There was a Brita water dispenser outside the room, so we could fill it freely. I used the pool, but it was a little disgusting because there were centipedes and spiders in the pool preparation room, probably because it was old. Parking at the hotel is charged, but municipal parking is nearby, and it was free.

1 night in a privilege room, very pleasant and quiet, silent air conditioning. On-site restaurant Pleasant welcome and staff, private parking. Small downside: towels and bathrobes a bit worn out... During a heatwave, the indoor pool would benefit from being a bit cooler...
