Hotel Alcyon

We came for the first time in January 2024 and we were delighted with this hotel. I had actually rated it 5/5, but we came back the weekend of July 14, 2026, and it was a huge disappointment. The room seemed less comfortable to me, less clean, the pillows too hard, the TV not easy to watch, but above all.... ABOVE ALL: NO A/C (it was cooler in the hallway, so we opened our room door for 1 hour to cool off (see photo); this is not normal for a seaside hotel.) We were in the middle of a heatwave. A nightmare. We had a horrible night. The shower was small, the bathroom too.... really not great. That being said, the breakfast is still of very good quality and the decor is cute. The welcome wasn't very warm either, just okay but without any effort.

A welcoming and warm team! A spacious and pleasant room with a view of the market in La Baule. We will gladly return for our next stay.

Well-located hotel, not too far from the sea but inconsistent in quality. Okay for the 3 stars at the RdeC but only 2 stars for the breakfast and the bathroom. The bathroom is somewhat outdated, with visible traces of old sanitary furniture… 🙁, with a slippery bathtub 🙁 and no usual hand/body cream in a 3-star hotel 🙁 As for the room, it also leans towards the lowest rating given the state of the quite stained carpet. It is fairly quiet at night but a bit noisy in the morning with the arrival of trucks delivering to the market just across the street. Comfortable bed for one but restless for two. As for breakfast, it could be of better quality (stale baguette one morning, scrambled eggs with an industrial taste). The reception was inconsistent depending on the people encountered. Otherwise, the parking is not suitable for wide cars. It would be appreciated to be notified at the time of booking…🙁 And the bike parking is very basic and not at all secure since the system is not even fixed to the ground. 🙁
