Residhotel Saint Etienne Centre

I spent 4 days at this aparthotel as a solo traveler, and it was absolutely perfect for keeping my expenses down. The price is incredibly reasonable, especially for a location right in the pedestrian center of the city. Being steps away from the Hôtel de Ville tram stop made navigating Saint-Étienne over my 4-day trip incredibly easy and safe, even when returning alone in the evenings. The tram line connects you directly to the main train station and all the major sights, meaning I never had to waste money on taxis.Traveling alone can sometimes feel daunting, but the team at reception made me feel completely welcome from day one. They were incredibly friendly and took the time to point out the best local dining spots nearby. My train arrived hours before check-in on my first day, and they happily stored my bags securely for free so I could head out and explore the city hands-free. They did the exact same for me after check-out on my final day, which effectively gave me two extra days of hassle-free sightseeing.Even though I didn't cook during my stay, having the in-room fridge and microwave was a massive budget-saver. It was perfect for storing cold drinks and leftover pastries. For breakfast, I loved grabbing fresh, incredibly cheap morning pastries from L'Atelier de la Place just a 3-minute walk away. I also spent a couple of afternoons relaxing with a fantastic coffee and a muffin at the nearby Club Café on Place du Peuple. The studio itself was clean, functional, and very quiet thanks to the soundproofed windows and the pedestrian-only street outside. If you want independence, safety, and a brilliant way to keep costs down for a multi-day stay, this is the best spot in town.

I appreciated the hotel for its location, the welcome, the layout of the room, and its cleanliness.

I really recommend this establishment; the welcome is very good, the staff is attentive, and the value for money is beyond my expectations. The only downside is the nearby parking for commercial vehicles.
