Hotel Domaine de Volkrange

We chose here to stay as it was just a couple of miles off the motorway on our drive to Switzerland. A rustic chateau set in a nice public parkland. our room had character & was clean & comfortable & peaceful. There isn't much around the hotel, but about 4 miles away there is a shopping centre. We had an enjoyable evening meal in the conservatory & also a reasonable breakfast. None of the staff we encountered spoke any English until we checked out.

Beautiful location, in a big park, and that is the only advantage. Did a 2 weeks conference here, was very disappointed. Don't know how much did it cost, it included a little breakfast and lunch. For the breakfast they never managed to have hot water for tea, we had to come to the reception asking for it each time. At lunch it was the worse, the food was not good, the portions were small and the dishes would repeat. I wouldn't recommend it to have a conference here. Don't know about the hotel because I didn't sleep here.

Excellent setting in a Parkland...its actually in a municipal park open to the public and the Hotel is owned by the town so its a bit institutional in décor but quite adequate. No real shower just a bath and shower tap. The Food was awful...cold salmon not defrosted enough from the fridge, greasy duck and pizza type bread and limited to 2 choices..I picked the wrong ones but the alternatives didn't look to good! It has good ( but public) parking and on arrival looks impressive ..the interior lets it down however. Courteous staff however
