Hotel du Circuit

I would like to warn against this hotel establishment. It is seriously dated, with decoration that seems dated from the 60s, and the comfort is rudimentary. We were a group of three travelers, we were accommodated in a couples room with an extra bed which raised questions… is there no room for 3?! Worse still, an extra €15 was charged for this extra bed, which was just as outdated as the rest of the hotel. Although the room may appear clean at first glance, a closer look reveals sloppy maintenance. The sheets were in poor condition, and the presence of a bedbug upon our arrival did not bode well. Breakfast, charged at nine euros per person, was a complete disappointment. The orange juice tasted more like water than juice, the croissants were raw, and the brioche was obviously stale. All this for a price of €130 for three people, breakfast included, is clearly excessive in terms of value for money. I highly recommend considering other options, like an Airbnb, for future trips

The welcome is friendly and our arrival was timed well in advance but this hotel deserves a good refresh with a decoration more in keeping with the times. This hotel is poorly soundproofed and I would invite the occupants of the rooms to take care not to slamming doors in the evening

We've stayed here more times than I can recall in the last twenty years or so. With changing management it's variously got better and worse over the years. Lately it's run by a couple who are friendly & helpful; if a little weird, in a 'local' kind of way. Akin to characters from BBC2's 'A League of Gentlemen' series! We stayed here several times in summer 2017 while using the circuit. The rooms are a good size, well equipped, with comfortable beds and decent showers. Breakfast is a typically French fare of bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, spreads, cold meats, cheese, cereals, plus decent coffee and juice. There is a bar but we didn't use it. Perfectly placed for the circuit, Nevers town is about 20-25 mins drive north of the hotel.
