Buttes Chaumont Hotel

What am I gonna say? A priori is the typical hotel that makes you think: “There is a cat locked up here, right?”. I had very low expectations, not only for the area but for Paris in general, but in the end I was not only surprised: I did not want to leave. I genuinely loved it. For me, if you are not very demanding, it is an 8 or 9 out of 10, especially if you do not want Parisian tourism 24/7. Upon arrival, the receptionist did not hesitate to help us with the parking issue, which incidentally is a 10/10: private parking for 20 euros a day, something quite difficult to find in Paris. The atmosphere of the hotel is quite peculiar, like a kind of “erotic camp”, with a rather interesting atmosphere. The rooms are fine, I loved the windows from which you can observe Parisian life, although you have to be careful because you can see from the hotel opposite. There is kettle with tea sachets, right bathroom and all quite functional. If you get bored at night, you can even learn some French by switching channels on TV. The hotel is next to the subway, is quite secure and is about 15 minutes from Belleville. The only thing I recommend is not to cross the street parallel to the metro station at dusk, because it becomes a real “GTA mode”.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The room lacked hygiene: ubiquitous dust, stained laundry (urine and blood), and a bathroom in poor condition with an unsanitary shower curtain. Moreover, the room was extremely narrow, which made the stay uncomfortable. It’s a shame because the team is doing their best, but the maintenance and cleanliness of the establishment needs to be seriously improved. As is, I would not recommend this hotel.

Old hotel in need of modernization, master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, (in the true sense of the word), the bathroom is facing the bed with a red marquee to create privacy. Very quiet and x be in Paris very clean. Only x sleep is fine, lacks air conditioning, so I do not recommend it in the summer months. It is on the outskirts but well served by metro line 2, which is behind the hotel.
