The apartment is clean and well located. But the boiler broke down, we are with young children, it is snowing outside. The manager, a certain Catherine, restarted the boiler twice, unnecessarily since it stopped working an hour later. The said manager, after two reminders, clearly told us that she would not spend the night to follow up on it and that we would do it..., before hanging up on us. Fortunately the stay is coming to an end, but we are clearly shocked by this welcome for a family.

We stayed in one of the hotel's top floor, budget family rooms. We arrived with a 2 year old and two 3 month old twins. We had asked for a cot for the babies but non was supplied. The top floor location without a lift was a real struggle, the condition of the stairwell was shabby and did not bode well as we climbed and climbed toward our room. The 5 person room was a double bed and triple bunk, the room was tiny, barely enough to swing a cat. The shower room was most strange, a square cubicle in an odd shaped room, it was not very clean; plenty of black mould and soap residue from those who had been before. The sheets were, however, clean!! Breakfast was rationed to one croissant, two butters and a jam per person, however, bread was in abundance! I would not stay again.

Unassuming small hotel, no lift so owner offered to carry cases to 2nd floor. Recent refurbishment is excellent, sound-proof rooms, electric sound/light-proof shutters, bed large but basic, excellent shower, innovative lighting e.g. dim in the night on certain switches - excellent! Breakfast is good, basic fare at the price and you won't get more in town for the same price. Easy walking distance to all the restaurants, Thermal Spring, free public parking outside hotel PLUS for bikers there's a lock-up garage next door - the owner being a Harley man! Great base for exploring the Massif Central - quiet in the evenings, if you want night-life this is not happening here, you'll have to go to La Bourboule.
