We spent 2 nights at Hotel Beaumanoir in August 2026. With only 8 rooms, it is supposed to be the smallest 5* hotel in France, which sounded quite attractive to us. Overall, the experience is disappointing and I think it is completely overpriced (we paid approx 900 Eur per night per room). Key issues with the hotel: -location: you are outside of the city center and far from the beach. There is no bicycle available to rent at the hotel or nearby, so that means you have to take a cab every time you want to go to town. Forget about taking your own car as parking is impossible. On top of that, you are very close to the airport, which can be very noisy. Having bicycles available for guests would be an easy fix -Breakfast: this is for sure the worst breakfast experience I have seen. It is « à la carte » only…. You want a coffee? 6 Eur. A boiled egg? 12 Eur. A piece of very average bread? 6 Eur. Some (very average) ham? 12 Eur… It is a total joke, it is slow and very average -The swimming pool area: there is a 25-meter narrow swimming pool. That should leave some space for guests from 8 rooms? Nope. No sunshade along the pool, just a couple of plastic sunbeds, completely uncomfortable… This is one the most poorly designed swimming pool area I have seen On the positive side, the house is beautiful and the personel is very friendly…

5 stars on the facade, certainly not in the service. Housekeeping unworthy of this standing: hair, poorly cleaned floors, stained walls, spider webs, and toiletries not replenished. Minibar only filled with champagne, pathetic turndown service, and more than 20 minutes of waiting on the terrace desperately looking for someone to serve us. But the highlight remains the employee's attitude: when we dared to point out these shortcomings and asked to speak to the manager, rather than taking responsibility and looking for a solution, she simply asked us to leave the hotel. Result: emergency rehousing in the middle of the season in Biarritz. A very beautiful decor does not turn mediocre service into a 5-star experience. At this level of classification, cleanliness, professionalism, and respect for the customer should be fundamentals, not options. A dismaying experience that we will certainly not repeat.

Outstanding service and hotel. Here you have control of service and service, because you feel welcome at all levels. Although hotels are a little away from the beach, it is not a problem, but there is quiet and total control of all details
