Hotel Ibaia

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ibaia. The room with a balcony was quiet and well-equipped, the beds comfortable. However, you should know that there is no desk/chair in the room. The room featured a coffee machine with free coffee pods and an electric kettle / tea. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the long sandy beach (Grande Plage) and the marina, from which a passenger ferry regularly travels to the opposite Spanish town of Hondarribia, which is also worth a visit. Very good breakfast buffet, and the hotel restaurant with its manageable, fresh selection is also recommended (though small portions, not exactly cheap). Unfortunately, the white wine was served lukewarm - but that was the only drawback). Many bars and restaurants within walking distance. A special highlight of the hotel was the pool. The staff at the hotel is extremely friendly.

We had several inconveniences during the stay, ants in the room, key card deactivated 2 hours before departure, paid parking not mentioned in the listing.... A lack of professionalism is to be noted in this establishment, which took 24 hours to find us a new room despite our multiple complaints. The service is not worthy of a 4-star hotel.

We had a terrific experience at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The days we were there it was badly overcast but the hotel is a street away from the beach and I can only imagine how stunning it would be with some sun. Beautiful town and excellent, clean hotel.
