Hotel Campanile Lyon Centre Berges du Rhone

We stayed at this hotel from Sept.5 to 8th 2026 when we booked the hotel early in the year the reviews were great and we were expecting something welcoming instead the taxi drove down a very dirty street in what looked like a sketchy neighborhood,,,,when we entered the hotel everything was upside down in the lobby with « fresh paint » signs everywhere….we were a bit taken back and asked if we could see the room to which he aggressively replied that they don’t do that and expected us to do the full payment right then and there…… We took the elevator up to our floor to find that we had a short set of stairs (5) to get up to where the rooms were I had to go down to the lobby to ask for help which he begrudgingly did……the hotel boasts of being handicapped accessible but is hardly so …there is a one floor lift to supposedly go up to the dining room area but the dining room had been moved to another floor with a full set of stairs ….the bar area was full of upside down chairs and tables full of dust …… We did stay the full three days and found that some of the staff were very helpful …. Because of the location my friend and I did not feel comfortable coming back to the hotel when it started getting dark…..

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our short stay in Lyon. Hotel in a good location, about 10 minutes from the center, with an underground parking garage nearby that is not affiliated with the property and is not difficult to find because it is right in front of the access road. A small initial misunderstanding with the Italian owner as we did not expect to have to pay on-site because it was booked through Booking, but then we understood that they only wanted the card details as a guarantee, but he perhaps thought we did not want to pay and therefore pointed out to us that he was also doing us a favor by not charging us for the early arrival at the property (but the two things were not connected, I would have paid for the early arrival too because I travel with two children so yes, I move at times that are convenient for them). Once that was overcome, everything was fine, the room was clean and sufficiently spacious, and the bathroom was good too. Breakfast was not exceptional, but we are not the type for a hearty breakfast. Overall, recommended!

Hotel well located on a small street near the docks and a few minutes' walk from Old Lyon. Spacious and quiet room on the top floor, very clean, and very good bedding. Breakfast with lots of choices, decent for the price. Construction work is underway in the building, which could explain a slight lack of cleanliness in the elevator, the only negative point... Otherwise, very good value for money...
