Mercure Lyon Lumiere

When you are passionate about photography and cinema and you find yourself in this wonderful location with the memorabilia of the birth of Cinema you are enchanted Excellent value for money. Exceptional breakfast buffet with the possibility of making yourself a nice orange juice or DIY eye eggs. Room spotless and comfortable bed.

We were passing through Lyon during a group tour and stayed overnight at the Mercure Centre Lumiere. Nothing particularly remarkable. Bedroom and bathroom (no bidet as used in France) small, double made of two narrow singles. All in order but on a lower standard than I would expect from a Mercure.

The hotel is in a strategic position to reach the center of Lyon. A few steps away is the metro stop, with which you can reach in four stops Place Bellecour, a city meeting place, where there is the Tourist Office. The accommodation is excellent, you sleep well, offers a hearty breakfast and the staff is excellent in its preparation and kindness. I highly recommend it for a stop in ancient Lugdunum.
