Domaine Saint Clair Le Donjon Etretat

Extremely disappointing given the price of the service: - Room absolutely not soundproofed, noise in the room above until 3 a.m., footsteps, laughter, and even more. Despite having notified the reception in the afternoon and the possibility of changing our room, it was not done. - Basic cleaning, quite a bit of dust, crooked frames, the toilet seat is wobbly... - The cigarette butt ashtray at the exit of the room was full, (great for non-smokers) and not emptied even after our arrival. - The bathrobe and towels had stains. - 1 strong coffee pod and 1 mild one for 2 people ... Fortunately, the staff was friendly and the common areas are very pretty with a nice view. But for a relaxing weekend, it is not ideal!!!

The place is truly beautiful, very picturesque, no question. The rooms and the pool were also fine. Very positive: The hotel is dog-friendly, which we really liked. The service in the restaurant was also great; they did forget about us for a moment, but you could tell it wasn't intentional and everyone was really trying. The rest of the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating, which makes one single person at the reception stand out all the more negatively: a blonde employee who treated us so arrogantly and dismissively at every encounter that it felt like we weren't welcome there; I have never experienced anything like that. The hotel is in an upscale price category, we paid for 4 nights, making such behavior at the reception all the more incomprehensible. After reading other reviews, I realize: This is apparently not an isolated case; the hotel does respond, but nothing changes. Yet there are so many beautiful places and hotels with great views in Normandy where you can save yourself this trouble. Plus: Dreamy location, dog-friendly, good restaurant, pool Minus: Arrogant, dismissive receptionist at every encounter, high price is out of proportion to the service

Great gem, about 10 min above the town. Rooms very individual, small but nice pool area - with barely 30 rooms, however, this is more than enough. The view from the terrace of the cliffs of Etretat is great. Very good breakfast and first-class service round off the great experience.
