Mercure Le Havre Bassin Du Commerce

A shame for a Mercure!!! Used to regularly visiting hotels in the ACCOR group, especially Mercure, I can only advise you to avoid this hotel. Not at all up to the group's standards, outdated, dirty, with non-functional air conditioning during a heatwave. I was served a soda at the bar in a chipped and sharp glass. And to top it all off, a detachment and nonchalance from the management that leaves you speechless

A team reception bar restaurant cooks at the top and with little care. A mix of younger and older generations, very old but like good wine... We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Mercure Le Havre Centre Bassin du Commerce. The location is good. The hotel is a short walk from the station and the city centre with all the sights and dining options is also a short walk away. The room was a good size with a kettle, tea, coffee, and milk. It had an empty mini fridge which was practical for storing some snacks. There was also a good amount of storage space. The bathroom had a lot of shelf space where to put potions and lotions to. It had shower only, no bath and was very clean. They had a soap bottle next to the sink and body and hair cleaning gel in the shower area. Both products were by Nuxe. We had one dinner there, which was very well stocked buffet of good quality items. It was reasonably priced at 20 euros. The service was also excellent. The breakfast was as you can expect in a 4 star hotel and maybe even a bit better. They kept the items replenished all the time. The dining room was always kept spotlessly clean and overall in perfect condition. You seldom see that level of attention to detail. We had a wonderful view of Le Havre from our room: We could see the bridge, the Vulcan and St Joseph's church. Also the view from the breakfast room / restaurant is towards those landmarks. If we return to Le Havre we will almost certainly stay there again.
