Pierre et Vacances Village Club Resort Belle Dune

As regulars, we have always appreciated this haven of peace, in a "pedestrian-only" environment, by a lake that is revealing upon waking, with trimmed shrubs and a well-kept lawn. A downside regarding a mini-market with "tourist trap" prices, but a market nearby makes the difference. The attraction remains the water park and the bike ride to reach the beach or the city center via a network of bike paths.

I should have looked at the reviews before going on vacation… Apartment dirty upon arrival. Clogged drain, refusal to let me enter the pool with my daughter after waiting in line for 15 minutes in the middle of a heatwave, and having neighbors who leave much to be desired with children who make a huge racket… A complaint was made and no refund, but a credit representing 1 and a half days of compensation after having spent two and a half days out of the 6… Do you think I am going to use a credit in such a chaotic club? Used to Center Parcs, this is definitely the last time I will go elsewhere

Tonight will remain a bad memory of this vacation. Our children saw inflatable games set up right in front of our accommodation — impossible to resist the urge to play on them, like any child on vacation. They were already getting ready to run over to them. Then they were told no. No orange wristband, no access. This wristband, reserved for Pierre & Vacances tenants, was never given to us: we are in Maeva Home. I had to watch my children—including my youngest, who is 3 years old—get turned away from a play area set up right outside our door, while other children, just a few meters away, were laughing and jumping without any problem. How do you explain to a child that they are not allowed to have something that everyone else has, in the same village, just a few meters from their home? There are no words gentle enough for that. It is a humiliation, pure and simple, and it is our children who bear it. It is exactly the same story as with the swimming pool, which we also do not have access to as Maeva Home guests—despite a photo of a pool being clearly visible at the time of booking. Two categories of customers, two categories of children, in the same village, at the same advertised price. The setting is magnificent. But this system that sorts families according to their type of booking, and that makes children cry in front of a bouncy castle, will remain the image of this stay. Never again Maeva. Never again Belle Dune.
