Best Western Derby Alma

My experience at this hotel was very bad and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The first problem was very serious. After check-out, they accused me of having stolen a hair dryer and charged €150 to my card. They even intended to make two charges, one for €150 and another for €330, for a total of €480. I explained to them immediately that I had never taken the hair dryer. They finally canceled the €330 charge, but kept the €150 one, arguing that I had taken too long to respond. It seems completely unacceptable to me that a hotel would accuse a guest of theft without proof and also charge them money for it. The second problem was that the hotel was without hot water for more than 12 hours. The most worrying thing is that they hadn't even realized the problem: they were only informed when I reported it. As a result, my family had to spend one of the days touring Paris without being able to shower. In a hotel of this category and price, that is inadmissible. The third problem was the total lack of organization. The hotel promoted events to watch the World Cup matches in the lobby, with food and drinks. We went with some friends to watch England vs. Norway and the receptionist didn't even know how to tune in the channel. It was our own friends who managed to put the game on. Afterward, we wanted to order a beer and were told that the bar was closed because the bartender hadn't come to work. Interestingly, after my stay I saw that another guest also left a review complaining that the bar remained closed due to the bartender's absence, which shows that it was not an isolated incident. The hotel's location is good, but that is not enough to compensate for such a negative experience. Being accused of stealing and charged money without proof, not having hot water for half a day, and having the services they promote not work reflects very poor management. There are many hotels in Paris; after this experience, I would choose any other before returning here.

Paris was the final destination of our European vacation, and Hotel Le Derby was by far the nicest hotel we stayed in. The room was luxurious, and the location was beautiful and close enough to the Eiffel Tower and conveniently near the metro stations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Hotel Le Derby. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris.
