In Australia, this hotel is advertised as 5 star, and after staying there I would rate it as 3 star at best. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. On arrival I was informed one of our rooms had been cancelled, even though it had already been paid in full, so I had to purchase another room, which was far inferior to the one already paid for. The room had never been cancelled and I am still awaiting my refund for the different in price. We sat in the lounge until this problem had been sorted out, and noticed nail clippings surrounding my chair, I informed a staff member but no-one cleaned them up. The next day my room wasn’t serviced, I informed the front desk but the room was never cleaned. The hotel advertised afternoon tea, this does not exist anymore. The air conditioning was almost non existent. The staff were quite polite but absolutely rubbish. They have 2 elevators, one was literally large enough to carry two people (as long as you were breathing in) the most ridiculous elevator I’ve ever been in. Myself, my sister and nephew did not enjoy one moment of our stay in this hotel.

Very disappointed with our experience at the Hôtel Brighton. We had booked a room for two nights at nearly €600 per night. For a 4-star hotel of this category, imposing a 4:00 PM check-in is hardly acceptable. In most comparable establishments, rooms are available by 2:00 PM at the latest. We are regular visitors to Paris and know the city very well. Instead of looking for a solution or offering a commercial gesture to compensate for this wait, we were simply handed a tourist guide to visit Paris. We specified that this was of no use to us. At this price point, we expected a real sense of service, consideration, and better management of the reception. This experience reflects, in our opinion, a real management and organizational problem. We did not expect this level of service from an establishment that claims to be high-end.

We recently stayed at Hotel Brighton in Paris. It is very well located, being within walking distance to the Louvre, and the staff were attentive. The hotel lists air conditioning as one of its features, however we found it to be completely inadequate. Granted that we were staying during a recent heatwave, for the price paid for the rooms, we would expect effective cooling but instead had 2 sleepless nights with the room temperature hovering around 30C. I would not recommend this hotel, especially during the summer months.
