Perfect hotel for the first time in Paris! We walked almost everywhere including to the Eiffel Tower, La Marais and the Sorbonne to name a few. Staff were lovely, room was spotlessly clean, can’t fault anything about the stay. We were two female travellers, it was our first time in Paris and we felt safe and secure at the hotel. Will definitely stay again!

Great location for the price and restaurants and cafes nearby. Lobby and breakfast area was comfortable. Staff were wonderful. Room was bright green and we loved it. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was convenient and clean. Armoir was good size for one night. TV had some English channels but we speak French so watched French shows. Elevator was typical French sized...tiny. One person and one suitcase only. Luggage storage on our check out day was fantastic and the gentleman called us a cab to the airport when we picked up our stuff.
Make sure to ask if your room has a window to the street...our only window was into a tiny, dark shaft holding the dumpster and had no daylight. We had booked a bright room on the top floor (6th floor for France/7th floor for US) which had one flight of stairs, but we received an email the night before we checked in that the elevator wasn't working. We of course requested a lower floor (got the 1st floor in France /2nd floor in US) but there was just the shaft window. When we arrived at the hotel after 5pm, of course the elevator was working again but our bright 6th/7th floor room had been given to someone else.

Once you get beyond the expected basics like a clean and comfortable room, a good location and high standards of decor plus a reasonable (for central Paris) price, you appreciate the things like pleasant and friendly staff who are clearly pleased and determined to help you enjoy your visit to Paris. The Hotel Crayon really delivers here, and I would unhesitatingly recommend it.
