In April, I booked a four-night stay in Paris for three people, paying nearly 1,000 euros for a small bedroom with three single beds. While I expected Paris prices, the value was poor. Unfortunately, the first night was a disaster: after a rushed check-in to go for a concert, I found no hot water for a shower. The next morning, the receptionist kindly tried to help by resetting the boiler, but after waiting, we still had no hot water. To make matters worse, the apartment wasn’t clean—it had cobwebs and clearly hadn’t been used or properly maintained in a while. The AC was also broken, and when we asked about it, the receptionist claimed a Paris law prevented us from adjusting it. After checking, this law applied only to public spaces, not accommodations. When confronted, she admitted that management advised her to say that. After two nights with no hot water, I got sick, and we had to book another place just to shower. On Sunday, they finally moved us, giving us an upgrade to connecting rooms. We left the hotel early on Sunday to go for tours and left our belongings packed so they could move us, and we got back after FINALLY showered in the hotel I tried to use the hairdryer and the power outlet comes completely off the wall 🤣 then, to top it off, I couldn't find a personal belonging—a liquor bottle box I bought as a gift— and when I walked out in the hallway I see the gift sitting in a housekeeping trolley. The manager refused to investigate or refund me directly, despite my repeated appeals. As a hospitality manager myself, I know they could have refunded me directly and handled this via Booking.com. Thankfully, I pursued a chargeback and won, but I strongly advise everyone: do not book this accommodation. They misled you, and the entire experience was a nightmare. Thankfully, I pursued a chargeback which is why I'm only posting this now, and I won the dispute but the damage was done. Please, avoid this place—dishonest management, and zero accountability.
