HOLIDAY INN GARDEN COURT

The structure, architecturally, is horrendous; the common areas and the rooms are truly sloppy. The carpet in the hallways is a battlefield, full of stains. Breakfast was nothing special. At the very least, the room was clean and the staff is kind. The problem is that this hotel is a 3-star, and if I had known, who would have set foot there?

Comfortable beds and a nice pool, but overall this hotel was overpriced for what it offered. Our second-floor room smelt strongly of stale cigarettes, even the net curtains, and the traffic noise from the main boulevard was constant making it difficult to have a restful night, The shower was over the bath, which isn’t ideal for older guests. Our grandson accidentally blocked the safe. We were told someone was coming, so we waited in the room for over an hour. We eventually went to dinner, only to find staff had entered our room and opened the safe while we were out, with no communication. Totally unacceptable in my opinion this should have been done in our presence. Breakfast was also disappointing – bacon, sausages and beans, but no eggs! Sadly, the negatives outweighed the positives, and we wouldn’t stay here again.

Wednesday 07/15/2026, I arrived at the Holiday Inn hotel, a little shaky. Traveling alone, in a wheelchair and at 72 years old, is quite an adventure, and sometimes you need a little helping hand. I was pleasantly surprised by the incredible welcome I received. They reserved a parking space for me, a receptionist of extreme kindness brought up my luggage and accompanied me to my room. And what a room!!! Almost a ballroom. Tired after 12 hours of crossing by boat, I went to bed immediately, really satisfied and happy with this welcome. What a relief!!! I can only say pleasant and positive things about this hotel. Having worked in the hotel industry myself, I can affirm that I find absolutely no faults with it. The reception, the bartender, everyone was extremely helpful, kind and even warm. A 10 out of 10.
