The reception decor leaves something to be desired, you don't get the impression of entering a four-star hotel, plus the day we were there, there was a very unpleasant smell of sewage…..
The staff is very professional and very kind.
Hotel very well located.
Room decent, clean.
Spacious breakfast room.

Had to use the parking at the Palais des Papes: 20 euros for 24 hours. The hotel offers a 20% discount.
I do not know Avignon; perhaps there are free parking spaces not far from the hotel. Afterward, I believe that one must walk quite a bit to get there anyway.
Pleasant and helpful staff.
The condition of the privilege room was questionable: mosquitoes coming through the vents; we did not open the windows, and neither did they; it smelled musty.
White marks on the coffee table and armchair, and found a laxative on the floor...
We passed by twice when we reported to clean our room; the dust was just moved under the furniture, the marks were still there, and we had to show them the laxative ourselves and take photos.
The meal for the price was mediocre and lacked flavor. It wasn't bad either, but at around 60 euros for two, we expect a minimum... The croque monsieur was bland, spongy, and unseasoned. The dessert was not designed for room service since it had ice cream... It is evident that we ate melted ice cream.
I would like to clarify that there is only room service, no restaurant in the hotel.
The breakfast had a lot of frozen items and few fresh products. However, the homemade products were good. There was a lack of organization when it was busy; the poor employees were everywhere at once because there were too few for the number of guests at Sunday morning breakfast.
By the way, a downside is that on weekends, breakfast from 6:30 to 10:00 is a bit excessive; the other Mercure hotels I have stayed at serve breakfast later than that.

Thanks to the email received in advance with tips for arriving by car, we headed directly to the public parking garage under the hotel. From there, the way to the hotel was somewhat "adventurous" and physically demanding for seniors with large luggage, but manageable. Thanks to an upgrade, we had a nice, large room with a renovated bathroom.
The staff was friendly and spoke very good English. The breakfast was typically French.
The location, right within the city walls and just a few minutes' walk from attractions, good cafés, and restaurants, is another significant plus.
