Regina Hotel Avignon

After two nights, my impression is extremely negative. The impossibility of being checked in after 9:00 PM, combined with the reliance on a QR code via SMS to access the room in case of a dead battery, good luck. The breakfast, served late starting at 7:15 AM, is of frankly mediocre quality. Parking is also a concern, with the nearest lot being a kilometer away, and the noise of the street cleaners starting at 4:00 AM makes waking up very painful.

I stayed here for 6 days, and was very pleased with my choice. The hotel is near the Central station, close to anywhere you might want to visit in Avignon, which is a small enough city to walk everywhere. The receptionists were friendly, in particular Alexandre - thank you so much for welcoming me when I checked in, and making me feel as if I was visiting old friends! My only problem with staying there was having no key or key-card to the doors! Main entrance and rooms are opened with mobile phones. I know I'm a dinosaur where technology is concerned, but I don't mind learning new stuff. It can be interesting. But this was worrying rather than interesting. If the phone/key doesn't work when reception is closed after 9 pm, there is a number to call, and a nearby hotel with 24 hour reception who can help. Apart from that - I would love to visit Avignon again, and would stay here again - even without a proper key!

Dated structure, assigned a bedroom with small double bed and poor mattress. Cleanliness to improve, shower in a niche / closet, stairwell and old corridors. All very poor, only positive note the central location.
