Senegambia Beach Hotel

Very nice hotel resort, great location at beach & sea, at end of the strip with the bars and restaurants. Big hotel area with multiple 2-level buildings with the (spacious) rooms. Very nice gardens with birds and monkeys. Two nice swimming pools, well taken care of + private beach area. Big thanks to Mr Abdoulie who supported me several times. I do not give 5 stars because of one big negative finding: the fitness room and the guy who runs it. The guy who runs it only works when there are guests for his private lessons. The rest he does not do anything and he does not care. No Hello, no goodbye. The few fitness machines are not cleaned at all. On Monday late morning they bring 4x towels, these towels are not refreshed at all during a full week! No drinking water available. If the guy starts doing some own fitness exercises he turns on the music very loud. The opening hours are adjusted to his schedule, 09-12, 16-18. One afternoon he came 30 min late, resulting I had to wait for closed door. When he arrived late, he just didn't care at all. Too bad hotel mgt does not notice nor take action.

I stayed at the hotel for a week and was pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and well kept gardens. My (superior) was spacious and had a powerful shower, hairdryer, fridge safe and aircon. I borrowed a kettle from the reception for the time of my stay so I could have a coffee on my balcony early in the morning before breakfast. Breakfast itself was good with eggs freshly prepared, a choice of fresh fruit, juices, various bread types, cereals, local specialities and more. The staff at the various restaurants was attentive and always ready for a little chat. In particular Kebba and Sophie were very kind and professional and our conversations made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel as a so-called „quiet“ pool where I liked to relax as the other pool attracted families and had music being played. On top there‘s the safe-guardedbeach with the occasional local passing by trying to sell local titbits. The gym was well equipped but not always open during stay as it was low season and the time of some religious holidays. However, I always found somebody to open it for me. In the large compound you‘ll see many types of birds (especially vultures being fed daily at 11:30) and occasionally there are monkeys and lizards around. In the street leading up to the hotel there are plenty of money changers, mini markets, restaurants and bars. I really enjoyed my stay here!

This was my 4th stay at this hotel within 6 months, meaning it is a fantastic environment, location between the airport and local amenities. The staff and entertainment are on point! First class service always! This is home from home! Blessings
