The hotel was lovely as was the reception. We were made to feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. Our room was well appointed and if you like canopied beds you would have enjoyed this room. The bathroom was nicely sized and had a number of amenities. The sitting area of the room gave more options for visiting. The breakfast was beautifully presented, delicious and varied with selections that were chosen with care. The dinner in the restaurant, while the menu was somewhat limited, will delight your senses. Again, the hotel staff and the wait staff keep your comfort and enjoyment in focus. We highly recommend this hotel. Location to the old city is within walking distance, about 15 minutes from the hotel. Should you stay at this hotel walk behind the hotel along a well designated path to a set of ~200 steps. The view is breathtaking of the old city, castle and the bridge and the steps lead you to the old historic bridge to cross over into historic Heidelberg.

Where to start..., I was here for a week on business. The hotel staffs are very friendly. I opted in for breakfast the next morning. It was truly a proper breakfast and the amount of food was more than one person could eat. Everything was prepared properly. For 29 eur, it was unfortunately not truly a white cloth service. A few touches were lacking, ie white cloth vs paper napkin and coffee was not refilled. The bed was comfortable and offers a good night's sleep. So that was the good, now for the bad... Wifi was spotty as best with limited bandwidth. So do not expect to do any work at the hotel. No AC in the hotel, so I bet summer here would be brutal. The bathroom was a Bath Room. There was no curtain to take a shower. Now for the ugly, the wall is super thin and the adjacent room would bang on the wall at 9:00 pm requesting Slient!! I came back on a Sunday night at 10:15 pm and the front lobby and front door was locked. Luckily they did show me a back entrance for night entry. However, as I enter the room my lovely neighbor was banging already. I guess it is too loud to even enter the room....
