Hotel Maurer

Lack of cleanliness in the rooms and common areas. The mattresses were completely sagged and way too soft. The heating in the room was much too heated and could not be downregulated due to broken circuitry.

Rooms are clean, the staff is helpful and this hotel is all one could need for a short stay. The train tracks are nearby, so some could be bothered. Hotels offers free parking (first come, first served). I did not try it, but they offer breakfast for 7,50 EUR.

I booked this hotel enroute to Greece and online via expedia. I lost my internet connection and the date defaulted to a date I had not originally selected. When I turned up at the hotel although there was no availability the person I spoke to was extremely understanding and gave me the address of an alternative close by. When I tried to cancel via expedia they ignored my request so I contacted the Hotel and they intervened on my behalf and explained to Expedia they had cancelled my booking and would not expect payment. I will definitely go out of my way to stay there if I am traveling to Karlsruhe again.
