Akzent Hotel Lawine

This small, family-run hotel for generations is located in a deeply cut romantic meadow valley not far from the winding ascent of the pass road to the Feldberg. Very close to the house are the chairlift and ski lifts to the Herzogenhorn - well known by skiers and hikers. Upon our arrival we were greeted extremely friendly. The restaurant, a Black Forest-style tavern with neatly laid tables and floral decorations, seemed cozy and homely to us from the first moment. The current menu offer is manageable and offers regional options for every taste – at moderate prices. All the dishes we chose were rich and very tasty, and the freshness quality was also absolutely convincing – including the dished-up trout, which until a few minutes earlier had been kept in the clear running water, which essentially comes from the nearby Fahler waterfall. Our quite large room with balcony was, like the entire house, top clean, the shower room new and quality modernized, the beds good, and generous closet space even for a longer stay was ample. Only the TV we found unexpectedly small. The “soul of the house” is feminine, heart-refreshing and at the same time the boss; she is actively supported by a no less “soul mate” and humorous sous-chef in the service. Both ladies - an experienced and well-rehearsed team with a lot of heart and balanced sensitivity for guest and hospitality. We felt comfortable right away and will gladly come back.

When doing the Albsteig, we spent our third night in the Hotel Lawine just below the Feldberg and we felt very welcome and we were very happy here. It is a family managed hotel. Our rooms under the roof were large and had a small balcony with a view of the garden. When arriving, we had coffee and fresh home made cake (a great German tradition) in the sunny garden behind the house. For dinner we had fresh trout stuffed with mint - delicious. With it we took a local wine - a perfect match. In the restaurant all seats were taken, not only by tourists, but also by locals. The family looked carefully after the guests (and so did the servants from Croatia, just great). Furthermore Oma (gran'ma) sat down at the tables to have a chat with the guests, while her kind eyes were sparkling and made everyone feel warm. In our rooms with the view of the garden we slept quietly. When returning to the area, I would certainly stay in the friendly Hotel Lawine again and have another one of those delicious trouts. (Note: Pets are allowed at an additional price of 8 Euros. This hotel primarily caters for vacation and offers additonal services for wellness or alpine and cross country skiing. They also have a separate room for family festivities or the like)

What a lovely hotel! The room, although not modern, was very cosy and impeccably clean, with very comfortable beds. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed our evening meal too. The hotel is right on the road, which is quite busy, but the rooms look on the other side, on a picturesque mountain and a stream. We went for a long forest walk directly from the hotel. Amazing waterfalls about half an hour into the woods. Strongly recommend
