Best Western Hotel Goldenes Rad

1. Very well maintained property in Friedrichshafen very close to the lake and the Zeppelin Museum . There are lots of places to visit in close vicinity and the place is well connected by public transport as well . It's in the market itself and there are lots of places to shop and eat as well. 2. The rooms are spacious, ventilated, clean and very well maintained.The heating was good and the quality of linen used was of high standards. Great efforts put in by the housekeeping staff . 3. The breakfast layout is pretty good at the restaurant and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. The good part is that even for pure vegetarians they made arrangements at a very short notice and ensured that we ate well. 4. The entire staff in general is very hospitable, courteous, helpful and accommodating. 5. It was a pleasure to meet and see Mr Dan working relentlessly with great enthusiasm and smile. His attitude to help is praiseworthy and worth mentioning. He had a solution to all the requirements that were put in and it was great to see that word " NO " did not exist in his vocabulary. 6. Being aircrew, I travel a lot but truthfully never experienced such warmth & hospitality. 7. In general appreciable effort by Mr Dan and the entire team at Garner to make our stay memorable & comfortable one. 8. Great stay thanks a lot.

Unfortunately, I can't find anything good about this hotel. We were two couples. We were accommodated in different buildings, although we had already booked 1/2 year in advance. There was no elevator in the main building and the luggage had to be carried upstairs. The room was spacious, but it smelled and mumbled. There were rotten carpets all over the corridors that smelled. The ventilation in the bathroom did not work at all and in the room were only weak floor lighting, so no good light in the room. In the annex, the elevator was broken. The room was so tiny that you could just about walk around the bed, provided you are slim. To get into the bathroom, you had to open a two-part bathroom door to the outside (there wouldn't have been any room inside). The bathroom was so small that you didn't even have room to dry off properly. The ventilation was also broken here. This was more like a cell than a hotel room. At least the breakfast was ok. The room rate was way too high. Get away from this hotel

We were heading back to Denmark after spending time with family in the Vosges area of France. Our first night, of three, we spent in Friedrichshafen at the Select Hotel Friedrichshafen. This very modern hotel, situated on a quiet street in the pedestrian zone, is only 30 metres from Lake Constance, and could not be more ideally located. We were able to access the hotel with our car and find parking a short distance away. The staff at the hotel were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Our room was large and very comfortable, wifi was included. The next morning's breakfast buffet was everything that we have come to relish in "European" breakfasts. Very complete and delicious, always a great start to the day! The location of this hotel is excellent for those wanting easy access to the lake, its lakeside promenade and also to other dining options and shopping. Also, if you are looking for a quick meal for later in the day, check out "backwerk", next door. This is a convenient fast food stop where you can grab something for "on the run". Friedrichshafen, as well as being ideally located on beautiful Lake Constance, is known for the Zeppelin Museum, where its important role in aviation history is documented. Situated on the northern shoreline of Lake Constance and near to the borders of both Switzerland and Austria. you can see the Swiss Alps across the lake. It is an area that we would like to return to!
