MARRIOTT

A very old Marriott surrounded by American military bases. The rooms are very small and the bed is old and sagging that gives you a backache. The air conditioning does not work well and it gets very hot in the afternoon. The restaurant staff is rude, arrogant and abusive and the service is terrible with the staff working around like zombies. The worst is the cook who systematically discriminates again Asians and non-white guests and tell them to eat the cold, pre-cooked food and refuses to provide fresh cooked eggs claiming that she does not understanding English. However, she is very friendly and speaks English well to American soldiers. My colleagues were also offended by her abusive and discriminatory behavior and the restaurant staff. How can Marriott Hotel hire or outsources such abusive staff who systematically discriminates Asian and non-white guests and treats only American military well. I reported the situation to the front desk and they stated that they will report the incident to the GM and he will write to me. However, the GM never investigated or wrote to apologize. It is clear that the incompetent, abusive and arrogant behaviors are supported by the GM. He and country does not change in this country even after 80 years later, supporting the right-wing policies of systematic discrimination.

What to say... Staying at the property for several days, having the "Due Not Disturb" hanger on the door, then the hanger falls off. The cleaning crews, just barging in ( no announcements, just barely, softly knocking), then being surprised that I tell them off. Never seen cleaners making rounds at 16:30. Stranger though, the FO thinks it is just normal not to announce oneself before using a general key card, potentially invading somebody's privacy. FO then trying to brush me aside, standing ground on their MO to just barging into guest rooms. What a Titanium Elite experience... Only in Germany...
