Augsburger Hof

The highlight of this hotel is the location, just a few minutes walk from the center of Augsburg. Very convenient their garage for a fee. We were greeted by a very kind Italian girl, who gave us a lot of useful information about the city. The room is not bad, furnished in a very retro way, maybe a bit too much. As a Third party bed they offer a not exactly comfortable armchair bed. Nice bathroom, windowed and good cleaning. Price € 119.21, for one night in three without breakfast.

Hotel a few minutes walk from the Duomo and with a short walk you reach the center of Augsburg, a wonderful and underrated city. The hotel is old-fashioned, but I really liked it, wooden paneling and mirrors above the bed, very comfortable mattresses, clean and windowed bathroom which is really hard now to find and for me is a considerable added value. Don't try breakfast. Very kind Italian receptionist. Garage nearby at a low price. Great value for money, absolutely recommended!

Great location for maybe winter or spring but there is No A/C in the room or lobby areas (probably true for most of Augsburg and Munich - so ask before you book) and it was brutal in mid-August. If you open your windows at night to try to cool off the streetcars run until at least 12 midnight and wake you up promptly at 6 am - we asked to be moved a "quiet" room on an inner courtyard after the first night which was less noisy but they wanted 20 euros more per night. If you rent a car and are 'lucky' enough to park there ask for the parking area closest to the hotel and tell them you will be taking your car in and out. If not you end up in the garage across the street it will take you a good 20 minutes to dodge columns, walls, and other cars and situate the car so you can pull out easier when you want to leave.
